Bridgeport Christmas Tree Stands
Preserving a holiday classic and a vital piece of American history
The Bridgeport Christmas Tree Stands were made from approximately 1920 through 1980 by firefighters in a few fire houses primarily located in downtown Bridgeport. The stands were made by the firefighters in their "down" time using salvaged or donated materials. The fire fighters often gave the stands away to local families at no cost.
